Do You Know What Impacts the Decision-Making Abilities of Your Employees?

SET will provide consulting services to identify “error precursors and traps” that may impact the decision-making abilities of operational employees. The assessment aims to understand the reasons behind operational disruptions and near misses within your organization and explore potential opportunities for improvement.

The assessment will include the following components:

  • Jobsite planning and performance
    • Is effective pre-planning occurring to identify and manage operational upsets?
    • Is job site planning appropriate to support safe work?
    • Are field employees meeting performance expectations based on effective planning?

  • Safe Work Practices (Field Observations)
    • Do existing safe work practices effectively support employee safety?
    • Are safe work practices uniform throughout the areas visited?
    • Are safe work practices aligning with regulatory and industry best practices for work performed?

  • Human Performance (HPI)
    • Are organizational issues occurring that may be influencing safe work performance?
    • Are HP tools being utilized? If so, are they effective?
    • Are HP tools uniform throughout the areas visited?
    • Are error precursors identified or communicated that could create unsafe conditions?

  • Training & Qualifications for work performed
    • Are employees trained to perform work based on safe work practices?
    • Do employees know their qualification requirements based on their work performed?

  • Communication and leadership
    • Does communication occur effectively to support employee safety?
    • Are there any roadblocks that may be preventing effective communication?
    • Are all areas receiving the same types of communication and leadership support?
    • Are management employees supporting employees effectively to work safely and do they know their responsibility and accountability within safety?
    • Do foreman and crew leaders know their requirements to provide leadership, and do they know their responsibility and accountability within safety?
    • Are all employees working as they are empowered as safety leaders?

Deliverable: Human Performance Improvement Assessment Report
A comprehensive assessment report centered on the areas outlined above. The detailed report will pinpoint key opportunities for improvement and offer targeted recommendations designed to foster organizational advancements.
